If you want to achieve the best result when using th OHE topcoat paint they we suggest you prime first. Use clear primer either under dark colour top coats or if you are think of destressing furniture and would like to see the wood peeping through on edges. 
 
This versatile, primer is exceptional for covering many types of stains and providing adhesion on a wide variety of hard to stick to surfaces. For use on drywall, plaster, wood, primed steel, galvanized, aluminum, copper and tile in dry environments. Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer also sticks to a wide variety of plastics but a test patch is always recommended on plastic surfaces.
 
Surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, grime, wax and chalk. Remove all loose or flaking paint by scraping, wire brushing or sanding. Fill all holes and cracks and any voids or surface imperfections. Stir product with a circular, lifting motion until product is uniform throughout.
 
Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer may be applied by brush and roller or by spray. May be thinned with up to 10% water for spray application. Dry to touch in 1 hour, reapply in 4 hours under normal drying conditions. Sealing some stains may require two coats and a longer reapply window to allow the primer to dry thoroughly prior to finishing.
 
CLEAN UP: Clean brushes and rollers in soapy water immediately after painting.
